Basketball Philosophy
“Defense
is our Offense!”-Coach Rountree
Here at Daniels we play
DEFENSE, create turnovers which lead to our offense, the FAST
BREAK. Our style of play is defensively
driven, up-tempo, intense and unselfish. We believe its takes five
individuals coming together as one unit, each giving their best effort at
all times.
We live by the three
“A’s”:
1.
Academics-each student-athlete
must strive for academic excellence which is
more important than basketball!
2.
Attitude- “As a
man thinketh in his heart, so his he”- our student-athletes develop
a positive mental attitude necessary to compete in life and basketball in
the face of adversity. They must model appropriate behavior at all times,
as they represent their school, family, and peers.
3.
Athletic
Ability-“Talent is not enough”-John C. Maxwell
Our athletes must possess a strong work ethic, talent must be
develop into
skills, skills developed into habits
that they can use in life and basketball
such as determination, courage,
discipline, commitment to excellence, and
teamwork.
