announcements are from the weekly phone message usually sent out on Fridays)
Good
Afternoon! This is Elizabeth Battle, principal of Daniels Middle School
with some announcements for the upcoming week!
Please
remember that next week all students will be taking the EOG and MSL tests. It is
very important for students to arrive at school on time.
Late students will not be admitted to class until testing has ended,
which will be around 1:00 pm. These
students will also have to make up the test they miss.
Parents - please do not schedule any appointments for your child until
after 1:00 on these three days. For
more information, please visit the Daniels Web page.
Spring Pictures were sent home on Monday. If you want to
purchase the pictures, please send the money to your child's homeroom teacher by
Tuesday, June 4. If you do not want the pictures, please return them as
soon as possible. Please make sure your child understands that pictures are not
to be distributed to friends until they are paid for.
On
Wednesday, May 22nd, FCCLA
will be having a spirit night at the Cameron
Village Chick Fil A from 4:00 to
8:00 pm to raise money to help supplement their trip to Nashville this
summer. FCCLA will receive 15% of the proceeds from all sales from those who say
they are there to support Daniels. They will also be selling Ice Dream for $1,
and will receive 100% of those proceeds. Please support FCCLA!
Please
be reminded that Daniels enforces the Wake County Dress Code Policy. Per
Wake County School Board Policy, dress code violations include, exposed
undergarments, sagging pants, excessively short or tight garments, head
coverings of any kind, and attire that exposes cleavage. We ask students who
are not dressed appropriately to change. If they do not have a change of clothes
either a parent brings a change of clothing or the student will be in in-school
suspension for the day.
A
reminder - school starts at 8:15 and ends at 3:00. The only excused tardy is
a late bus or doctor's note. Please know that students who are late to
school do receive a lunch detention. At five lunch detentions, students receive
an after school detention. Please contact your child's administrator if you have
questions about this policy.
